Elvis Mourão
Mania Contemporary’s second exhibition spotlighted the bold, unbroken lines of São Paulo-based artist Elvis Mourão. In this self-titled solo show, Mourão filled the gallery with a dynamic maze of figures, symbols, and pure visual rhythm—his signature freestyle aesthetic created without sketches, edits, or hesitation.
Presented alongside his collaboration with Yorkville Murals, where he painted a towering, site-specific mural in the heart of Toronto, the exhibition captured the full spectrum of Mourão’s practice—from small, meditative works on paper to sweeping, immersive wall pieces.
His hypnotic black-and-white linework moves like thought itself—spontaneous, surreal, and endlessly interconnected. Elvis Mourão at Mania Contemporary marked a moment of creative flow across scales and surfaces, proving that a single line, when drawn with intention, can carry worlds.
