Time Machines
Time Machine marked the inaugural exhibition at Mania Contemporary, launching the gallery’s program with a celebration of precision, play, and reinvention. In this debut solo show, Toronto-based artist Dan Tanenbaum reimagined the mechanics of time through a series of intricate sculptures built from vintage watch parts.
Known for transforming horological remnants into poetic and surreal vignettes, Tanenbaum invites viewers to consider how time can be repurposed—not just measured. Blending nostalgia, curiosity, and obsessive craftsmanship, Time Machine explored how discarded materials can become portals into memory, imagination, and stillness.
More than an exhibition, Time Machine set the tone for Mania Contemporary: curious, collectible, and completely original.
