Flynamic Duo (Blue) pairs two of Hebru Brantley’s signature young heroes—goggled, grounded, and ready to rise. Screenprinted in a limited edition, the 2017 work reimagines the classic superhero partnership through an Afrofuturist lens, replacing capes with cool and origin stories with lived experience. Rendered in a crisp blue palette on ultra-white cover stock, the duo stands side by side—not just symbols of power, but of possibility. It’s Brantley’s universe in blueprint form: clean, confident, and built to inspire.
About The Artist
Hebru Brantley (b. 1981) creates worlds where imagination is resistance. Rooted in Afrofuturism, comic book aesthetics, and hip hop history, his work reclaims childhood iconography to confront race, power, and possibility. At the center of his universe is Flyboy—a goggled avatar of defiance and wonder, inspired by the Tuskegee Airmen. Brantley’s murals and sculptures breathe life into Black narratives with bold color and mythic energy. From Chicago walls to global art fairs, his work carries the charge of a movement. At Mania, we view Brantley as a world-builder—an artist who turns nostalgia into a launchpad for liberation.
