Minneapolis Stay Up is a nod to resilience in the urban landscape—layered signage, bold type, and Fairey’s unmistakable visual hierarchy. Released in 2005, the screenprint captures a moment where grit meets message: a reminder to persist, create, and remain visible. With a cool-toned palette and vintage Americana edge, the piece blends activism with aesthetics in classic Fairey form. It’s not just about staying up on the wall—it’s about staying up in the face of everything else.

About The Artist
Shepard Fairey (b. 1970) turns propaganda into poetry. From wheat-pasting Obey Giant stickers on street signs to designing the iconic HOPE poster for Barack Obama, Fairey’s work has always blurred the lines between street intervention, political statement, and design mastery. His visual language is unmistakable: bold red and black palettes, Soviet-style symmetry, and a deep respect for both punk ethos and activist art. Fairey built a movement from a sticker and turned it into a global conversation. At Mania, we see him as a street philosopher—an artist who weaponizes aesthetics to challenge authority and inspire action.
