Featured in his self-titled solo show at Mania Contemporary, The Window is a bold entry in Elvis Mourão’s print series. With his signature black-and-white linework and bursts of hot pink, Mourão constructs a surreal cityscape teeming with watchful eyes, graphic forms, and playful symbolism. A reflection of urban life filtered through dream logic, this print captures the artist’s unique blend of structure, spontaneity, and soul—crisp, curious, and unmistakably his.
About The Artist
Elvis Mourão transforms the urban landscape into a dreamscape. Hailing from São Paulo, his work is anchored in street graffiti but propelled by pure imagination—his signature monstrinhos (little monsters) roam city walls and gallery spaces alike, playful yet full of soul. With roots in graphic design and deep ties to music, fashion, and cultural festivals, Mourão’s art merges spontaneity with sharp visual rhythm. In summer 2023, Mania hosted Elvis Mourão (August 25–September 26), a self-titled solo show, and partnered with Yorkville Murals to bring his vision to the streets—where he painted a larger-than-life mural that still echoes across Toronto’s cultural core. We see Elvis as a visual storyteller—one who turns walls, sneakers, and city corners into living, breathing characters.
